About BBC
BBC (AUS) Pty Ltd

The origins of BBC AUS lie in the establishment of some of the Eastern Seaboards largest independent cement and concrete producers.  Our management team have used the experience over the years to build BBC as a company that is customer focused and continually striving to satisfy our clients through innovation and deliverance; hence our range of world first light-weight load-bearing bricks and blocks and our motto Building a Better Future.

BBC is the market leader of masonry products in NSW, in the past three years it has supplied the following major projects amongst many others:

• Lane Cove Tunnel
• Concord hospital
• Nowra Gaol
• Long Bay Gaol
• Pacific Square Maroubra
• Desalination Plant Kurnell

BBC was incorporated in March 2006 and is a construction materials company based in Sydney. The Company has a particular focus on developing and marketing building materials which source raw materials from co product & differentiated feed-stock sources, as part of a renewable emphasis to the traditional building materials sector.

BBC initially focused on lightweight brick and block products through its operations at Port Kembla and more recently at Heatherbrae, near Newcastle.

Following a recent acquisition, BBC also produces and markets ready-mixed concrete. It operates 3 concrete batching plants across the Sydney region and 1 in Melbourne and has an ever-growing fleet of agitators ready for the delivery of concrete across the greater Sydney & Melbourne regions.

BBC AUS is aiming to build a large scale, fully diversified, integrated construction materials company.  Through it's innovative mix, BBC AUS has achieved a substantial masonry market share in the greater Sydney region, since beginning operations three years ago.  BBC AUS has driven considerable product substitution between the clay and masonry markets as the traditional weight issues relating to masonry products are alleviated through BBC’s lightweight products.

BBC’s technology was developed by Dr Ihor Hinczak whose history spans some 40 years in the industry of cement technology. Ihor has developed specialty cements used for the Sydney Harbour Tunnel project as well as Parliament House Canberra.

BBC was founded on the basis of creating an enduring construction materials company that would provide you the customer better construction materials to work with in a market that has resisted change since the Roman times; and at the same time meet modern construction material requirements with a reduced green-house gas footprint as awareness of the damage our industry is permitting upon the environment; hence our motto Building a Better Future.

BBC through its Alphalite™ range of masonry and premixed concrete products is the premier Australian supplier. With our unique patented technology to supply the market with lightweight load-bearing masonry units that not only greatly increase productivity because of its significant weight advantages in comparison to competitor clay and masonry products but also with Alphalite™ high fire, sound insulation and load-bearing ability it has reduced site and design requirements for having different products for each job.

BBC will move forward its range of premixed concretes that will provide similar ergonomic, design and cost saving advantages to its customers.

BBC cares for the environment and has made a matter of carefully selecting its raw materials in order to reduce Green House Gas emissions.

We select materials:

• that  are a co-product of another process
• that have great thermal properties hence creating large savings in heating and cooling costs in the   finished building
• with back loads, minimising the wastage level on transport

To build a better future we need to start today.
