The Beatitudes
Imagine walking into a shop where all the price tags had been switched around – where a large screen television is priced at 50 cents and a simple sandwich press was priced at $2000? That would probably stop you in your tracks for a moment! That is the same sort of shock that Jesus gave his disciples when he began teach on the mount. For he spoke of his upside-kingdom, a kingdom where things that are seen as troublesome or people who are outcasts are suddenly highly valued.
